Orgullo por cada propiedad

Somos propietarios de todas las viviendas que alquilamos. Esto significa que nos preocupamos por su estado, su mantenimiento y por las personas que viven allí, no solo por las ganancias. A few simple steps that make moving easier — and protect your new home from day one. Moving is stressful. There's no way around it. But a little planning before moving day can save you hours of frustration and help your transition into your new home go as smoothly as possible. Here's what we recommend to every incoming resident. Start with a room-by-room inventory Before you pack a single box, walk through your current place and take stock of what you're actually bringing. This is a good moment to donate, sell, or discard things you no longer need. Less to move means less to unpack — and less to store in your new space. Label every box clearly — and be specific "Kitchen" is not enough. "Kitchen — pots, cutting boards, dish towels" tells you exactly what's inside without opening anything. Number your boxes and keep a simple list on your phone so nothing gets lost in the shuffle. Pack an essentials bag for day one Set aside a separate bag — not a box — with everything you'll need the first 24 hours: phone charger, toiletries, a change of clothes, important documents, and any medications. This bag stays with you, not in the moving truck. Protect your floors and walls during the move Use furniture pads, moving blankets, or old towels when bringing in large items. Scuffs and scratches on move-in day complicate the move-out process later. Starting clean makes it easier for everyone. Review your move-in checklist before unpacking At Three Keys, we conduct a move-in walkthrough with every new resident. Before you start filling closets and hanging things on walls, take a few minutes to go through the checklist together. Note anything that was already there — this protects your security deposit when it's time to move out. Reach out if you have questions Our team is available during business hours and accessible through the tenant portal. If something isn't working on move-in day — a light fixture, a faucet, a door latch — let us know right away. We'd rather handle it on day one than have it become a bigger issue later. We're glad you're here. Welcome home. Author: Three Keys Real Estate LLC Category: Resident Resources

Knowing the right questions to ask before you sign can save you time, money, and stress. Renting a home is one of the most important decisions you'll make — and in a market like Northeast Ohio, where housing options range widely in quality and management style, it pays to go in prepared. Whether you're renting for the first time or relocating from another city, here's what we recommend looking for before you commit. Visit the property in person before applying Photos don't tell the full story. Walk through the unit during daylight hours, test faucets, open windows, check cabinet doors, and look at the condition of the floors and walls. A well-maintained property reflects an attentive owner. If something looks neglected before you move in, that pattern usually continues. Ask how maintenance requests are handled This is one of the most important questions you can ask a landlord. Find out whether they have an online portal, what the expected response time is for routine versus urgent issues, and who actually responds — an owner, a property manager, or a third-party contractor. At Three Keys, residents submit requests through their tenant portal and receive prompt follow-up during business hours. Urgent issues are always prioritized. Read your lease before signing — all of it A lease is a legal document. Take time to understand the full term, the rent due date, late fee policies, pet rules, guest policies, and the conditions for security deposit return. If something is unclear, ask. A landlord who won't explain their lease is a red flag. Understand what utilities are included Some rentals include water, trash, or lawn care in the rent. Others don't. Make sure you know exactly what you're responsible for before you calculate your monthly budget. Factor in heating costs — older homes in Northeast Ohio can carry significant utility bills in winter if they're not well-insulated. Check the neighborhood, not just the unit Spend a few minutes on the street. Is it quiet? Are other properties maintained? Is there parking? Is it close to work, schools, or transit? Your home is your unit and your surroundings — both matter. Know your rights as a renter in Ohio Ohio law gives tenants clear protections around security deposits, habitability standards, and notice requirements. Ohio landlords are required to maintain properties in a safe and livable condition. Understanding your rights helps you ask the right questions — and recognize landlords who take those responsibilities seriously. At Three Keys Real Estate LLC, we believe renting should be simple and professional. We maintain our properties, communicate clearly, and treat our residents with respect.
